Compress Image

Last Updated: October 6, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Compress Image ("Compress Image", "we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use the application.

Compress Image provides image compression, resizing, format conversion, metadata removal, batch processing, image inspection, history, presets, saving, and sharing features.

We aim to handle information only as necessary to provide the application's features.

2. Images You Select

When you select an image for compression, resizing, conversion, metadata inspection, or another image-processing operation, the application needs access to the selected image.

Depending on the operation, the app may temporarily process the image in device memory and use information such as:

Core image processing is designed to take place on the device rather than requiring an external image-processing server.

3. Image Compression and Resizing

Images selected for compression or resizing are processed according to the settings you choose, including target file size, quality, dimensions, aspect ratio, and output format.

The application may create a processed copy of the selected image while keeping the original image unchanged unless you explicitly choose to replace or delete it using available device controls.

4. Metadata and EXIF Information

Compress Image may read supported image metadata in order to provide its metadata inspection and removal features.

Metadata may include information such as:

When you choose the metadata removal option, supported metadata is removed from the output image where technically possible.

Removing EXIF metadata does not change information that may already exist elsewhere, such as information stored separately by your device's gallery or cloud backup service.

5. Batch Processing

When you select multiple images for batch compression, the application processes the selected files according to your chosen settings.

Selected images may be temporarily loaded into memory or local application storage during processing. Processing information is not intended to be used for purposes unrelated to the requested image operation.

6. Compression History

If you use the history feature, the application may store local information about previously processed images.

This may include information such as:

You can use the application's available controls to manage or clear stored history.

7. Favorites, Presets and Settings

The application may store your selected preferences, compression presets, quality settings, target sizes, resize preferences, theme preferences, and other settings locally on your device.

Custom presets are created and controlled by you and can be modified or removed using the application's available controls.

8. Saving Processed Images

When you choose to save a processed image, the application may create the output file in the supported Pictures/CompressImg location or another location selected through Android's file system.

Saved image files remain under your control and may be accessed, moved, copied, or deleted using Android or other applications on your device.

9. Sharing Images

Compress Image may use Android's standard Sharesheet and FileProvider functionality to allow you to share processed images.

Sharing is initiated by you. Once you share an image with another application or service, that application may process the image according to its own privacy policy and terms.

10. Device Permissions

Compress Image may request access to photos, images, or files when required for selecting, processing, saving, or sharing images.

The exact permission behavior depends on your Android version and the method used by the application to access user-selected files.

The core image-processing features do not require access to contacts, SMS, call logs, location, microphone, or camera.

11. Network and Online Services

Core image compression, resizing, format conversion, and metadata processing are designed to operate on the device.

If a particular version of the application includes advertising, analytics, crash reporting, online services, or other third-party SDKs, those services may require network access and may process technical information according to their respective privacy policies.

12. Data Sharing

We do not intentionally sell the images you process or the local compression history created by the application.

Images may be shared with another application or service when you explicitly use the Android sharing functionality.

Third-party services included in a particular version of the app, such as advertising or analytics providers, may process information according to their own policies.

13. Local Storage

Application preferences, presets, history information, and other supported records may be stored locally on your device.

Local information generally remains on the device until you delete it, clear application data, uninstall the application, or otherwise remove the relevant files.

14. Data Security

Reasonable measures are used to protect information handled by the application. However, no electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your device and any images or files that you choose to save, export, or share.

15. Children's Privacy

Compress Image is a general-purpose image utility application and is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly request personal information from children for the purpose of creating accounts or profiles.

16. Third-Party Applications and Services

Compress Image may interact with other applications through Android's standard file and sharing mechanisms.

Third-party applications and services operate independently and may have their own privacy policies, terms, and data practices. You should review those policies before sharing images or files with external services.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the application's features, third-party services, legal requirements, or data practices change.

Any updated version will include a revised "Last Updated" date.
