NetTools: Network Utilities
Last Updated: October 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NetTools: Network Utilities ("NetTools", "we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use the application.
NetTools provides network and system utilities including subnet calculations, ping diagnostics, DNS lookups, TCP port checks, HTTP/HTTPS connectivity tests, IP analysis, URL parsing, device network information, history, and favorites.
We aim to collect and handle only the information necessary to provide the application's features.
Depending on the tools you use, NetTools may process technical information such as:
Most of this information is generated by the diagnostic actions you explicitly perform in the app.
Some NetTools features require network connectivity to perform their intended function.
These may include:
The handling of information by external DNS, web, or network services is subject to the privacy policies and terms of those services.
NetTools can perform DNS lookups for supported record types, including A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, and TXT records.
When DNS-over-HTTPS is used, the DNS query is sent to the configured DoH service in order to obtain the requested DNS response.
NetTools may also use local DNS resolution where available. External DNS providers may process technical request information according to their own policies.
When you use ping, TCP port, or HTTP/HTTPS testing features, NetTools sends the relevant diagnostic request to the destination you specify.
Results such as response time, connection status, packet loss, HTTP status codes, and other available response information may be displayed and, where applicable, saved to local history.
NetTools may access network information exposed by the Android operating system in order to display network and interface details.
This may include:
Availability of particular information depends on the Android version, device manufacturer, permissions, and operating-system restrictions.
NetTools does not require location information for its core network diagnostic functionality.
Network-related information displayed by Android should not be interpreted as the app requesting or determining your physical location.
NetTools may store diagnostic results, frequently used targets, servers, subnets, and URLs in local application storage to provide history and favorites functionality.
This information may include the target, utility type, test result, timestamps, and other information generated by the diagnostic.
You can use the application's available controls to clear diagnostic history or remove saved favorites.
Several utilities are designed to work without network access, including subnet and CIDR calculations, IP format conversion, and URL parsing.
These calculations can be performed directly on the device and do not inherently require sending the entered information to a remote server.
NetTools may provide Android's standard sharing functionality for diagnostic results.
Sharing is initiated by you. Once information is shared with another application or service, that application's privacy policy and terms may apply.
NetTools requests permissions that are necessary for its network diagnostic and device-network information features.
The permissions available to the application may vary according to the Android version and the features included in the installed version.
NetTools does not require location permission for its core networking utilities.
NetTools does not require users to create an account to use its core network utility features.
If the installed version of NetTools includes advertising, analytics, crash reporting, or other third-party SDKs, those services may collect technical information according to their respective privacy policies.
Any third-party service used by the application may have its own data collection and processing practices.
We do not intentionally sell your diagnostic history, saved favorites, or information you enter into NetTools.
Network requests initiated by you may necessarily involve the destination host, DNS provider, DoH provider, web server, or other service required to complete the requested diagnostic.
Information may also be shared when you explicitly use the Android sharing feature.
Reasonable measures are used to protect information handled by the application. However, no electronic storage system, operating system, network connection, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should avoid entering passwords, authentication tokens, private keys, or other highly sensitive credentials into network diagnostic fields.
Locally stored history and favorites remain on the device until they are deleted through the application, application data is cleared, the application is uninstalled, or the relevant storage is otherwise removed.
Network services involved in a diagnostic request may retain request information according to their own policies and retention practices.
NetTools is a general-purpose network utility application and is not specifically directed toward children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of creating accounts or profiles.
Certain features may interact with third-party network services, such as DNS-over-HTTPS providers, web servers, public IP services, advertising providers, analytics services, or other infrastructure required by a particular feature.
Third-party services operate independently and may have their own privacy policies. Users should review the policies of services they interact with through the application.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the application's features, third-party services, legal requirements, or data practices change.
The updated version will be published with a revised "Last Updated" date.
Users are responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate authorization before testing systems, hosts, ports, or networks. The availability of a diagnostic feature does not grant permission to access or test a third-party system.
