This Privacy Policy explains how ScreenTest ("the App") handles information when you use its display inspection, touchscreen testing, diagnostic reporting, and related features.
ScreenTest is designed to provide on-device display and touch diagnostics. The information handled by the App depends on the features you use, your device, and the version installed.
1. Information We Handle
Depending on the features you use, the App may process the following information:
- Touch-test information: Touch coordinates, pointer movement, touch trails, and the number of simultaneous touch points detected during a test.
- Display-test results: Test selections, completed diagnostic stages, and observations you manually record about pixels, colours, brightness, uniformity, or touch response.
- Device display specifications: Information made available through Android system APIs, such as screen resolution, pixel density, refresh rate, and supported display capabilities.
- Reports and history: Test summaries, results, manually flagged issues, timestamps, and previous diagnostic runs, where these features are available.
- App preferences: Settings and choices used to operate the diagnostic tools, where applicable.
ScreenTest does not need your name, phone number, email address, or account credentials to perform its core diagnostic tests.
2. How Information Is Used
Information processed by the App may be used to:
- Display touch coordinates and visual test patterns.
- Show device display information available through Android.
- Generate diagnostic summaries and reports.
- Save and display previous test results, if supported.
- Remember app settings and improve the testing experience.
3. Local Storage and Offline Use
Core display and touchscreen tests are designed to work without an internet connection. Where supported, diagnostic history, manually recorded observations, and reports may be stored locally on your device.
Information stored locally may remain on your device until you delete it, clear the App's data, uninstall the App, or remove it through an available in-app option. Android backups or device-transfer features may handle app data according to your system settings.
4. Sharing and Exporting Reports
If you choose to share or export a diagnostic report, the App may pass the selected report to Android's sharing interface or another destination you select. The receiving email service, messaging app, cloud service, or other recipient may process the information under its own privacy policy.
Review a report before sharing it, particularly if it contains personally identifying notes or other information you entered.
5. Internet Access and Third-Party Services
The core diagnostic features are intended for offline use. If a particular version of the App includes online services, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or other third-party SDKs, those services may process certain technical information as described in their respective privacy policies.
We do not claim that information is never transmitted unless the installed version and all included libraries have been verified. Please refer to the applicable Google Play Data safety disclosures for information about the published version.
6. Permissions
ScreenTest uses Android system capabilities required for its diagnostic features. Display information may be accessed through supported Android APIs.
The core display and touch tests do not inherently require access to contacts, SMS, call logs, microphone, camera, or precise location. Actual permissions depend on the features included in the installed version. Any permission requested by the App should be used only for its stated purpose.
7. Data Sharing
ScreenTest is designed to keep core diagnostic activity on your device where supported. Information may be shared when you explicitly export or share a report, when a third-party service is included and used, or when disclosure is required by applicable law.
We do not sell personal information as part of the App's core diagnostic functionality.
8. Data Security and Retention
We recommend keeping your device protected with an appropriate screen lock and maintaining control over exported reports. Local app data may be accessible to someone who can access your unlocked device or its files.
Diagnostic history and reports stored by the App remain available according to the installed version's storage and deletion features. You can remove locally stored data by using available in-app deletion options, clearing the App's storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the App, subject to any separate copies you exported or backed up.
9. Children's Privacy
ScreenTest is a general-purpose diagnostic utility and is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe personal information has been collected through the App inappropriately, please contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the App's features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The revised version will include an updated date. Please review this page periodically.
